Job Overview
A Lifeguard for Campus Recreation at Yates Field House monitors pool activities and ensures member safety. They use their knowledge of rescue procedures and emergency medical procedures, and remain alert throughout their entire shift, to help prevent incidents and ensure safety, and to enforce all safety guidelines as outlined and to remain alert throughout an entire shift; they also perform additional duties, such as preparing activity and incident reports - and pool maintenance as needed.
Work Interactions
Reporting directly to the Associate Director for Aquatics and Risk Management, a Lifeguard maintains a safe aquatic environment for our students, faculty, staff and community members who use McCarthy pool.
Qualifications
Current Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard certification, to include CPR Professional Rescuer
Self-motivation
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Willingness and availability to attend at least two in-service trainings per year
