The annual salary listed for this position is the base cash salary and excludes retirement contributions. SUMMARY: The Aquatics Director is responsible for the administration of the Hulbert Aquatics Center. This position will provide oversight to the Hulbert Aquatics Center facility and will be responsible for all facilities planning and coordination, staff planning, selection, supervision and evaluation, along with all marketing, promotion, and oversight of the facility and its operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Planning, promotion, and oversight of all Aquatic Center partnerships and special events
Planning and management of facility and program budgets
Manage, lead, and direct Aquatics Staff
Develop, implement, and maintain schedule of activities and events
Develop and implement Learn to Swim Program
Management of the physical aquatics facility
Administer risk management plan for the Aquatics Facility, including comprehensive safety rules applicable to all patrons, students, and spectators
Oversee the district’s facilities rental program
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Aquatics Facility Management, Facilities Management, Sports Marketing, or related area and\or specialized training, certifications or credentials relevant to aquatics.
Three years progressive experience in Aquatics program and facility supervision.
Requires a minimum of three years directly related experience leading or supervising coaches and advisors of activities.
Experience with Colorado Time Systems and HyTek Meet Management Software.
Experience with volunteer coordination.
Experience with event procurement and event management.
The following certifications/licenses are required upon hiring: Certified Pool Operator, Lifeguard & Water Safety Instruction, CPR, and First Aid
Skilled in the following areas:
Recruiting and retaining staff
Marketing, coordinating and scheduling of large-scale events and event personnel
Monitoring and formulating procedures to assure all events and programs meet state and federal laws, rules and requirements
Conducting public relations and fundraising activities including promotion of programs, meeting with citizens, resolving conflicts and in making presentations
Planning, monitoring and implementing program budgets
Developing and implement aquatic programs consistent with the philosophy of the district
Developing, motivating, and fostering collaborative relationships both inside and outside the organization
Ability to deal effectively and appropriately with parents, students, staff, administrators, community groups, and coaching personnel
