Job Description: Position Summary
The Coordinator, Aquatics & Memberships, under the direction of the Assistant Director, Facilities is responsible for the planning, organization, and day-to-day operations of the Bill Powell Natatorium, as well as assisting the Assistant Director, Facilities with oversight of membership services.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Aquatic Management
- Plan and supervise risk management protocols for the aquatic facility operations. Operate aquatic facility to meet all applicable state and local health standards. Obtain necessary facility inspections and certificates
- Oversee proper water testing, chemical supply ordering, and proper storage of chemicals for the aquatic facility
- Assists external and internal partners with the coordination and supervision of the preventative maintenance plan for all aquatics equipment associated with the Bill Powell Natatorium
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate aquatic facility staff. Plan, coordinate, and implement staff training, in-services, and water safety skills testing
- Assist with the development, implementation, evaluation, and enforcement of all rules and regulations pertaining to the aquatic facility
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director, Facilities to coordinate the scheduling and supervision of the aquatic facility by campus and community groups
- Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate aquatic programs, to include group and private swim lesson programs and special event programming
- Coordinate and facilitate certification courses in American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Water Safety Instructor for employees and the community
Membership Management
- Assist in the recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating of Membership Office Assistants
- Develop and implement strategic plans for recruiting and retaining non-student members to meet established membership revenue goals
- Oversee both the customer-serving and internal operations of the recreation management software program
- Maintain and organize all membership forms and documents
Fiscal Management
- Develop and manage Aquatic and Membership staff operational budget in accordance with university and departmental policies
- Develop and manage the Aquatic equipment and maintenance budget
- Monitor and execute bi-weekly payroll information and operating expenses
Departmental Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and contribute to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- Support and align with the mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of Campus Recreation & Wellness.
- Serve on departmental committees and work teams to accomplish collaborative goals of the department.
- Fulfill night and weekend responsibilities as needed.
- Position shall include but is not limited to the duties listed above. May perform other duties assigned to help maintain Campus Recreation & Wellness operations and services.
Job Requirements:- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Management, Student Affairs, or related field of study.
- At least two (2) years of experience in managing university or community aquatic facilities (graduate assistantships, undergraduate employment, and internships are acceptable for determining minimum required experience).
- At least one (1) year of personnel supervision experience.
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI)
Additional Information:Pay Band: 7 Salary Range: $17.44 - $20/hr
