JOB SUMMARY The Dierssen Coastal Ocean Lab for Optics and Remote Sensing (COLORS) in the Department of the Marine Sciences at the University of Connecticut invites applications for a 2-year, renewable annually based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding, Postdoctoral Research position. The candidate will evaluate hyperspectral algorithms for differentiating phytoplankton groups in Antarctic Peninsula waters and apply approaches to existing airborne PRISM imagery of the region as a proof-of-concept for future global hyperspectral missions like PACE and SBG. The candidate will work in conjunction with an international team involved with the Palmer Long Term Ecological Research Project and the Drake Passage Time-series and consider their research within the context of air-sea carbon flux, sea ice and mixed layer dynamics in a changing climate.
