Position Number: D97752 Description: The Department of Environmental Science and Management (ESM) at Portland State University (PSU) invites applications for Adjunct Instructors with expertise in Environmental Science and Management to teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Successful applicants will be expected to teach service courses and possibly some core courses (see PSU Bulletin for individual course descriptions). Undergraduate courses, such as: Environmental Science; Orientation to Environmental Sciences and Management; Introduction to Environmental Systems; Applied Environmental Studies; Methods of Data Collection, Analysis, Representation, and Modeling for Environmental Managers; Research Methods in Environmental Science; Field Methods; Understanding Environmental Sustainability; Natural Science Inquiry; Teaching Everyday Science; Energy and Society; Water in the Environment; The Science of Women's Bodies; Environmental Sustainability Upper division undergraduate and graduate courses, such as: Environment and Ecological Literacy; Research Methods in Environmental Science; Understanding Environmental Sustainability; Natural Resources Policy and Management; Limnology and Aquatic Ecology; Natural Science Inquiry; Environmental Sustainability; Science of Women’s Bodies; Data Collection and Modeling; Project Management for Scientists; Urban Ecology; Environmental Institutions & Management; Forest Ecology; Old Growth Forest Ecology; Climate Change Impacts; Water Quality Policy & Management; Environmental Sustainability; Intro to Environmental Management; Climate Risks and Vulnerabilities. Minimum Qualifications: To teach Undergraduate level courses: Master's or advancement to candidacy for a Ph.D. candidate in Environmental Science and Management (or closely related field). To teach Graduate courses: Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Management (or closely related field) and professional activity sufficient to assure awareness of current advances in the discipline or profession. An MS and extensive work experience aligned with course content may be used in lieu of degree, at the discretion of the department. Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Management (or closely related field).
